The Happy Farm at Deer Park Monastery is a living expression of our love and respect for Mother Earth. Rooted in inclusiveness, compassion, and ancestral wisdom, we aspire to integrate regenerative, restorative farming with mindfulness practice, and community living and service.
The farm is a living classroom where we cultivate not only delicious vegetables but also mindfulness, joy, and a sense of interconnectedness with the Earth. We are part of the broader learning ecosystem supporting the Thich Nhat Hanh School of Interbeing, helping to root children’s education in relationship with land, food, and community.
The farm helps to feed our community and is run entirely by donations and volunteers. We also offer our vegetables to our neighbors and friends on a donation basis.
Our vision is to cultivate a space that nourishes the well-being of individuals, society, and the planet.
When we breathe together and work together, our collective mindfulness can help heal the Earth and bring peace and joy to ourselves and one another.
We look forward to practicing with you on the Happy Farm!
With gratitude, The Happy Farm Team

From time to time we offer multi-week courses related to mindfulness, the teachings and life of Thich Nhat Hanh, and a variety of similar subjects. Please see our schedule of upcoming courses.

Take the Deer Park Monastery and Plum Village community with you wherever you go. The Plum Village app is designed to cultivate mindfulness, compassion, and joy through guided meditations, deep relaxations, practice poems, bells of mindfulness, and other practices — all through a mobile device.
