How are you doing? | Sister The Nghiem

In this Dharma talk, a Sister Thể Nghiêm from Deer Park Monastery invites us to return to ourselves through mindful breathing, walking, and reflection. The theme centers around the simple yet profound question: “How are you?”—a question we often ask others, but rarely stop to ask ourselves with presence and sincerity. The talk flows naturally between Vietnamese and English, filled with tender stories about family, the healing power of nature, and the energy of mindfulness in daily moments. The monastic shares moving reflections on caring for oneself during emotional storms, learning to slow down, and restoring communication in our relationships. With humor and honesty, the talk weaves in practices like listening to the bell, brewing tea mindfully, and walking slowly as a way to reconnect with the miracle of life. It concludes with a deep encouragement to cherish loved ones, tend to our own well-being, and let mindfulness be a gentle companion through joys and challenges.
