Stream Entering Monastery

A Mindfulness Practice Center
in the Plum Village Tradition
530 Porcupine Ridge Rd
Porcupine Ridge, Australia
Established 2010 by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh
About an hour north of Melbourne, Stream Entering Monastery is a nunnery where friends may come to quiet the mind, look deeply, and enjoy the many wonders of life within and all around us. The Center offers a safe and serene refuge for practitioners to learn the art of mindful living and practice with the multifold lay and monastic community, the Sangha. Stream Entering Monastery welcomes everyone, all faiths, beliefs, races, genders, nationalities, ethnicities—everyone!
All who wish to cultivate peace and happiness are invited to visit for a Day of Mindfulness or an organized retreat. Practice opportunities include online morning sitting meditation and chanting, retreats for Wake Up young adults (18–40 years old), family retreats, foundational practice retreats, festivals, and many others. A full list of retreats and special events can be found here. The Center’s monastic Sisters host Days of Mindfulness every Thursday and Sunday as well as joyful “community working bee” days on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Meet the Stream Entering Monastery sisters here.
Stream Entering’s website includes biographies of Thich Nhat Hanh (1926-2022) and tools for mindfulness practice at home. Click here to visit the English homepage.
