Plum Village

Plum Village, located in the south of France, is the root temple of the Plum Village tradition, and an international mindfulness pratice center founded by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh in 1982. It is the residence and place of practice for the monks and nuns of Plum Village and hosts thousands of monks, nuns, and lay practitioners from around the world every year. Plum Village consists of four main temples: Dharma Cloud Temple (located in the Upper Hamlet), Dharma Nectar Temple (located in the Lower Hamlet), Lovingkindness Temple (located in the New Hamlet), and Sơn Hạ Temple (also located in the Upper Hamlet). The French name is Village des Pruniers, and the Vietnamese name is Làng Mai, or Mai Thôn Đạo Tràng.
